This nine-day course provides you with an introduction to the global context of fashion. We’ll visit a variety of fashion markets, including world-famous department stores, visit museum collections, and tour garment and fashion districts in two great capitals. We’ll also take in a studio tour. This experiential opportunity allows you to compare merchandising, customer relations and product presentations and observe how these elements come together in Florence and Rome. This program offers you an introduction to the diverse themes, perspectives and environments of European fashion capitals. ACADEMICS Earn three credits in ATM 439 Fashion Markets: London and Paris or ATM 689 Workshop with Professor Cathryn Amidei. LODGING Hotels in Florence and Rome, room based on multiple occupancy. COSTS * If there are significant changes in costs beyond the control of Academic Programs Abroad, we may need to require a surcharge (e.g. rises in the cost of fuel, sharp changes in currency exchange rates). We will, however, do our utmost to keep the price as advertised.
