Program Description

OVERVIEW

Earn three credits in special topics Management in Tianjin, China. Join Professor Jean Bush-Bacelis for this remarkable opportunity to meet with business professionals at our partner university in Tianjin, China.


You’ll enjoy three days of touring Beijing. During the introduction to the capital city, you’ll see the Great Wall of China, visit the fascinating Ming Tombs, take a tour of the Forbidden City, and stand in Tianenmen Square before settling into the program experience at the University.


The coursework at the University will include culture lectures and demonstrations as well as tours of business districts, shopping and business-specific lectures, including: the economic development of China, Marketing in China and Managing in China.

ACADEMICS

Students may select from Undergraduate or Graduate credits, and this program is open to all majors and minors. (Credit may be used an general elective credit):

MGMT 479/592 (3) Special Topics: Management in China

MGMT 477/590 (1) Management in China

These course credits may be applied as unrestricted electives to an undergraduate Management major/minor, Gen. Business major/minor or Enterpreneurship major/minor
For International Business students, the 3 credit option fulfils 3 of the required six credits

General Education Credit in Learning Beyond the Classroom: This course provides LBC credit - Group 5: International and Multicultural Experience (Option #1: Participation in Study Abroad sponsored by EMU).

Students will receive a total of 32 course hours of instruction in History, Economics, Marketing and Management. Four four-hour sessions will address Tai Ji and Kung Fu, Chinese cooking and paper-cut arts.
There will be 2 sessions of 4 hour sightseeing inTianjin., shopping and other site visits.

LODGING

Students live in the rooms base on multiple occupancy while touring, and at Tianjin University International student housing.

MEALS
Meals at Tianjin University are included in the program cost.
